What daily life looks like in Lake Country: where the kids go to school, where you buy groceries, and how far it is to a doctor and a hospital.

Shopping
Winfield is the shopping centre: IGA on Main Street, Save-On-Foods in Winfield and a BC Liquor Store (IGA; BC Liquor Stores). For bigger shopping trips, Kelowna’s north end is about 15 to 20 minutes away.
Health care
- Lake Country Health Unit (10080 Main St) offers public health nursing such as immunizations and prenatal care, by appointment. It is not a hospital or urgent care centre (Interior Health).
- Walk-in and family practice: there’s a family practice with walk-in hours in Winfield; check current hours before you go.
- Nearest hospital: Kelowna General Hospital, about 25 minutes from Winfield off-peak (OSRM estimate, October 2026).
Library, arts and community

Golf
Aspen Golf Course on Bottom Wood Lake Road is a nine-hole, par-30 course built in 1980; check its current status before you count on it. The full-size courses closest to Lake Country are in Kelowna and at Predator Ridge in Vernon (see predatorridgegolfhomes.ca).
